With 8 bearings & very smooth without being too big...just about sums it all up.
The best 5000 sized batrunner reel Shimano have made. Its all the better as Shimano currently don't make a 5000 sized baitrunner, therefore it is now the "staple bit of kit" in both the Barbel or Tench fisherman's armoury plus hard to find in good condition and also command high second hand prices. Lovely action with a very good clutch & free spool system...practically "bomb proof" if looked after properly.

Best looking version of the GTE series
In my opinion the GTE 'C' models were the best looking version of the older Baitrunner series being painted metallic black with polished alloy spools.
