Good little cook top for the price.
1 van 1 vinden dit nuttig I have used this cook top for a week and a half now, and here are my findings.
The good, extremely fast heating, fairly adjustable, high repeatability.
The bad, low is not low enough for my taste, I can not get it below a low boil once the load is up to temp, it doesn't heat up as large of a diameter as I was hoping, it only seems to heat 8 or 9 inches so my large cast iron does not heat up at the edges which could be a good thing for zonal heating, some times it does not seem to maintain an accurate heat window, seeming to go a bit cold compared to the setting, then back up, not bad, but I would figure it should be a bit tighter, lastly the transducer has a quite squealing sound, oh and the fan sound if that would bother a person, I do not mind it.
All said I am very happy with the device at the price I paid($35 shipped). I could see it being better but I would not expect it for the price. Many fine foods have already come off it and I hope many more in the years to come.
Overall MUCH better then my old hot plate except that I can not get as low a temp as I could with the hot plate.

Great wick
1 van 1 vinden dit nuttig Light years beyond the cheap stuff(and the stuff that is not so cheap from RS). Super fine weave with just the right amount of rosin makes work quick, easy, and clean. Very very happy with this wick. I will likely never buy another brand.

Great desoldering gun! Performs as expected.
The controls are tight and accurate, the machine feels legitimate, all the accessories that come with it are very handy. It is a great deal for the price. I would buy again and again if I needed them all.
The catch cylinder is a little tricky to get in and out for cleaning so be prepared for that. I hope they work on it in future revisions, but unless you are desoldering all day it really isn't an issue.
I stuck a small pinch of stainless steel kitchen scrubby in the spring of the catch cylinder to extend filter life and it helps a great deal. Also make sure to let it preheat for at least 10 min to make sure the tip is heated all the way back or solder may freeze in the nozzle, it is a real pain to remove. You will definitely regret it if you do not give it the time to roll. Maintains heat very well I can desolder a 40pin IC without a break.
I repair game systems and audio equipment and it meets my expectations, I like it well enough that I would be willing to sell them with great confidence.
