The drive has up to 1.4 million hours of MTBF, so it can deliver reliability in the most demanding storage environments. The drive has a spindle speed of 7200 RPM with a 64MB cache buffer. It’s internal data transfer rate of 30 GB/S buffer to host and 128 mbp/s host to/from drive help it accomplish a number of tasks in addition to the 64MB cache SATA 3.0 GB/s. Outside of its cache, the drive features a dual processor to maximize performance with double the processing power. The Western Digital RE4 (WD2503ABYX) 250GB internal hard drive 7200 RPM features enhanced RAFF technology for vibration protection. The drive includes electronics that monitor the drive and ensure it continues to perform well in high vibration situations. The drive also features a head positioning system with a pair of actuators to improve positional accuracy over the data tracks. The primary actuator uses conventional electromagnetic actuator principles to provide coarse displacement.
