Additionally, it also works as a slave to other Canon Speedlite 550ex flashes. The features include manual power selection, flash exposure control, and manual zoom settings. This flash also helps with focusing on many Canon cameras as the focus assist light that the flash projects helps cameras focus faster and accurately, even if there is a low contrast surface. This also allows you to bounce the flash off of other surfaces or reflectors. You have the ability to use light softening accessories with this flash. The Canon Speedlite 550ex Flash does a better job of preventing red-eye effects and half-moon shadows than previous digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) flash accessories, meaning it delivers better results and added control to your photography. The Canon Speedlite 550ex specifications include direct-sync, shoe-mount flash with E-TTL auto flash control, wireless transmission, and reception. It also includes E-TTL pre-flash, an autofocus assist beam, auto zoom, and bounce flash. The flash sits well above the lens, which also helps reduce the number of half-moon shadows in your pictures. The auto zoom head covers lens focal lengths of 24mm, 28mm, 35mm, 70mm, 80mm, and 105mm automatically. The manual zoom is enabled with a zoom button. The Canon Speedlite 550ex works with up to seven modes, including normal flash, quick flash high-speed sync, stroboscopic flash, pre-flash, test flash, and modeling flash.
