This subject matter can be dry and confusing, but the author sets it out clearly and in a manner that is easy for the student to grasp. This is a strength of the text that is not shared by many legal research and writing texts., Putman provides more detailed discussion of the legal research, analysis and writing process, with specific examples as illustrations in each chapter. This is very helpful in illustrating the basic concepts to students in a practical manner.
