Originally created as a comic book followed by a succesful black & white TV series that gained world-wide exposure in the '60s & '70s, Astro Boy remains one of Japanese Animation's most widely recognised characters throughout the world today; 'the mighty atom boy' is without doubt one of the worlds most beloved and well-known creations. In the year 2030, a brilliant robotics engineer named Dr. Boynton loses his son Toby in a tragic car accident. Distraught over his death, the dedicated, but heart-broken scientist uses his technical experise to construct an android in the boy's image. But all was not as he'd hoped, for the scientist soon realised the robot, Astro Boy, could never grow into a human capable of filling the void in his heart. Abandoned to by Dr Boynton, Astro Boy was then rescued by Dr Elefun. Under his guidance, Astro Boy embarks on adventures, fighting anything that threatens mankind! Episode 1: The Birth of Astroboy - Hi! I'm Astro. My father is a robot scientist. He always scolds me for my clumsiness. I think I have too much power. The other day I used my superhuman power to save many people from a big fire. That's when they found out I was a robot. So my father and I decided to sail across the ocean. Again I encountered trouble. Our ship was drawing near an iceberg. I had to save the ship and its passengers. I became completely exhausted when another danger approached. Episode 2: Robot Circus - Life in the circus was exciting but hard. The robot elephants did wonderful tricks and Tornado the trapeze star risked his life in a dangerous stunt. But I couldn't seem to do anything right. Hamegg the ring master threatened me and I wanted to leave the circus. My friend Cathy believed in me, and when an accident threatened the whole audience I had a chance to prove myself. Episode 3: Save The Class Mate - This is Astro again. I went with Dr. Elefun back to our own country where he put me in a real school. I started in the third grade in
