Historical Thinking, Reading, and Writing Skills for AP® European History. This primer provides tips on reading this college level text, suggestions for analyzing what you read and recommendations for synthesizing the information and writing a cohesive argument. Enhanced "Life" Chapters. The acclaimed "Life" chapters have always stood out as a student favorite. In response to reviewers of the text, we've added a new chapter - Chapter 30: Life in an Age of Globalization, 1990 to the Present. The Past Living Now is a new feature in the "Life" Chapters that examines an aspect of life today with origins in the past. With topics such as the dawn of commercialized sports, these essays were conceived with student interest in mind. New and Expanded primary source features. Each chapter now includes at least five written or visual sources with questions for analysis that invite students to evaluate the evidence as historians would. This provides numerous opportunities for assignments, discussion and classroom activities. Online quizzing with LearningCurve . The eleventh edition comes with automatic access to LearningCurve , Bedford's new online adaptive quizzing engine. These assignable, formative quizzes differentiate instruction by adjusting to each student's unique zone of proximal development. Research shows students learn more and retain more with LearningCurve . Teachers can assign and assess quizzes to gauge student progress and understanding. Improved Learning Aids. To focus students' reading, each chapter opens with a chapter preview with focus questions keyed to the main chapter headings. These questions are repeated within the chapter and again in the new Review and Explore section at the end of each chapter. Make Connection questions prompt students to assess larger developments across chapters - emphasizing skills in evaluating change and continuity, making comparisons and analyzing context and causation. Suggested Reading and Media Resources at the end of each section lists up to date readings on the vast amount of new work being done in many fields. Update Coverage. This edition is also enhanced by the incorporation of a wealth of new scholarship and subject areas that immerse students in the dynamic and ongoing work of history including recent ideas on the impact of empire on the Scientific Revolution; more on the experiences of African Americans, Native Americans and women in the revolutionary area; significant updates to the Industrial Revolution coverage, including increase attention to the global context; revised treatment of ideologies and romanticism; new coverage of the popular appeal of nationalism; new material on Orientalism and European imperialism; extensive updates on the Cold War; and up-to-date coverage of contemporary events in the final chapter.

Has bad communication, doesn't respond back to the buyer and is not considerate. I had an issue neither eBay or the seller resolved.

I had bought the book & put the wrong address. I was unaware there was a cancellation request, since there was no response and needed the book asap I decided to do another purchase thinking the seller would be considerate. Once placing the second order I messaged the seller to please cancel the first order as I do not need 2 books, 0 response and they sent both together!! At the end I didn't need either, I returned them ASAP, and the seller had the nerve to deduct the shopping cost from both.
