He examines the dynamics and deep-seated rivalries within the Tory party, pitting Chamberlain's partisans against Churchill's. While Chamberlain appeased Hitler at Munich and urged isolation at home, it was Churchill who emerged from his wilderness with his distinctive voice of moral authority and bulldog conviction. And in the end, history proved Churchill right.
