The images were either stock, perhaps from ebay's "sell one like this" option or, just as likely, it's possible this happened in transit, but the item was poorly packaged and that's on the seller. As for the "poor packaging" - well, it's packed in a protective cardboard and then an envelope, which is how you ship records
