I believe its synthetic material, but you would never know it isnt leather. The piece fit perfectly, with just a little scissor trimming needed near the screw holes. pulled and stretched it to fit tightly, and used super glue to secure it in place. We'll see how it wears long term but for the price, I'd gladly buy a replacement if necessary, as used ones here on eBay cost around $100, and are often dirty and worn.
