Lewis are busy investigating the murder of a journalist who was in the process of preparing an article that would possibly exploit the real motives behind the wealthy benefactor's kind gesture."The Way Through the Woods" - Inspector Morse and Sgt. Lewis search the Wytham Woods for the body of what was supposedly the Lovers Lane Killer's fifth victim. Justice is served in one way or another when the murderer is killed in a prison fight, but the young girl's unrecovered body has Morse intensely perplexed.
