This design should NOT require PTFE tape it shipped with, only trailer pipe fittings use PTFE tape. Before leaving negative feedback, the buyer should contact the seller to return the adapter if it doesn't meet their expectations. The adapter is designed to meet food-grade standards. It is made of stainless steel, and the threads are sealed with PTFE plumbing tape approved for sealing pipe connections for drinking water. Sealing with PTFE tape is very effective, which is why mechanics use it to seal air brake connections.
