Lotus history: the first 50 years
When I decided to dive into the history of this exiting British sportscar brand I found this book on eBay. It gives a good overview of all the road models of the period between 1948 and 1998 and a brief history of the founder of Lotus, Colin Chapman. The models produced are presented in a chronological order and all the major models are well described and illustrated. The Elan, +2 and Europa models are the cornerstones of the first 30 years, but also types like the Elite and the Seven are well described. Then the mid 70s saw the modern Lotuses: Elite, Esprit, Eclat and Excel and also these are getting enough attention. The book is not very thick: 80 pages, but is is a good introduction of the marque.
