Great machine.

Lots of entertainment for years! Rather fussy player but when it worked it was great. Later when it was dying we scrounged another PS2 and combined the two to get a working one. This is still being used and is more tolerant of scratched discs so all good. And the games are really cheap now! We recently had to reformat the new hard drive for our new PS3 and lost heaps of data, photos and even the account and the paid games. In some ways the PS2 was better as it simply used a memory card, which was easily backed up if you had another one. No account, no downloaded games, just discs. And great for playing DVDs.

Sony SVRS500 (80 GB) Freeview Receiver and Recorder

Our first taste of Digital TV and HDD recording. Well it works! I haven't seen a manual as we bought the item second-hand. The menus are reasonably intuitive and after a few tries at recording we think we now know how to do it. The programme guide only shows the current and next programme, I don't know why we are not getting the full guide. Takes several seconds to change channels. Maybe they all do that? Overall it does the job and we are happy for the moment.

Great reader, lightweight and easy to use

More difficult to register than I had hoped, as I had to use a computer and the Kobo app does not work with XP either. Once registered however the device is a delight to use. Easy to read and navigate, and easy to transfer files to. It even has an SD card slot, although I have used only USB so far. Long battery life. Very pleased.
